Forza Fuel: The Challenge

A global search for the world’s
greatest Forza driver

To support the launch of Forza Motorsport 6 we wanted the answer to a simple question: Could the best Forza driver beat a real professional racing driver? Same car. Same track. Real life versus Forza Motosport 6. We set about building a global campaign to find out. 

We challenged Forza fans across the world to download the Forza Motorsport 6 demo and post their fastest lap times. The top 20 from across the world would then battle it out for a coveted spot in the final and a chance to go head to head with a real life professional racing driver. 

Phase 1 - Qualifying

Forza fans join a team on our dedicated Forza Fuel hub on Xbox.com. They then download the demo to their Xbox One and submit their fastest lap time for a chance to qualify.

Phase 2 - Circuit of the Americas

With each team led by some of the world’s biggest gaming influencers, the three fastest drivers (and one lucky wildcard) in each team are selected and sent on an all expenses paid trip to Texas, USA - home of the Circuit of the Americas racing track to go head to head with each other to detemine our finalist.

Phase 3 - The Grand Final

Our Forza driver finalist now takes on the ultimate challenge - a head to head race with a professional racing driver. Same car. Same track. Real life versus Forza Motorsport 6.

The Campaign Hub

A central pillar of the campaign was the custom built, fully responsive hub we built and deployed on Xbox.com. We also developed bespoke integration with the Xbox account system allowing fans to login with their Xbox gamertags, join a racing team and keep up to date with all things Forza Fuel.

Promo Video

A bespoke promo video using both custom and in-game assets, call to actions and an emotive score was created to support the campaign to build awareness and call out to Forza fans across the globe
